About The Position

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a motivated Electrician Apprentice to join our team in Sherman, Texas. This entry-level position offers hands-on training and mentorship to develop essential electrical skills and knowledge, contributing to the successful completion of various energy infrastructure projects.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from the job site.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Enrollment in or completion of an accredited electrician apprenticeship program is preferred, but not required for highly motivated candidates.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles and safety practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist journey-level electricians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and components, including wiring, conduit, fixtures, and control devices.
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts and equipment installation procedures.
  • Prepare work sites, including gathering tools and materials, setting up safety equipment, and ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
  • Perform basic electrical tasks under direct supervision, such as pulling wire, terminating connections, and installing electrical boxes and outlets.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, as directed by experienced electricians.
  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and the team.
  • Participate in on-the-job training and formal apprenticeship programs to continuously improve electrical knowledge and skills.
  • Assist with troubleshooting electrical issues and performing routine inspections of electrical systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on tasks.
