About The Position

As an Electrical Technician at United Rentals, you will perform maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs on equipment safely and professionally. The role supports exceptional customer service and offers the potential to progress to higher-level Technician roles in the Service Department.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 45 lbs.
Basic verbal and written skills.
Basic electrical aptitude.
Own tools applicable to the position and have a working knowledge of tools.
Strong teamwork and customer service skills.
Ability to understand the rental cycle.

Responsibilities

Perform maintenance checks on rental equipment before and after use, assessing damage, operational condition, ohm and amp readings, safety decals, and safety compliance.
Report machine condition to the counter person or Service Manager for appropriate customer billing.
Load and unload equipment while complying with DOT height, width, and weight regulations.
Clean equipment and prepare it for new rental contracts or sale.
Check equipment, demonstrate its proper use, and familiarize customers with each piece of equipment.
Perform minor repairs on rental equipment and tools safely, including contactor or relay cleaning and small component replacement, and tag equipment as rental ready.
Assist higher-level technicians as needed.
Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts to and from outside vendors and other United Rentals locations for purchases or repairs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
