HII Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team. This work is for NSWCPD Code 533 and requires the candidate to be on-site in Philadelphia 4-5 days a week. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for providing comprehensive engineering technician support to the Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) Engineering Team, encompassing operation, maintenance, and installation of various DAS programs. Proactively troubleshoot DAS instrumentation issues using diverse measurement tools to achieve resolution. Support the DAS Engineering Team with advance planning, development, and organization for pre-installation preparation of upcoming components. Identify, document, report, and recommend improvements for unexpected or abnormal conditions to the DAS Engineering Team. Must be comfortable working with electrical equipment, including low and medium voltage switchboards, generators, transformers, and load centers.

Requirements

  • AA or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years of related experience, or HS + 5 years related (DoD/USN) experience.
  • Candidate must have experience in electronics engineering in the operation, test and maintenance of naval ship Combat Systems, Hull, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, equipment and systems.
  • Candidate must have experience with the use of naval ship blueprint and technical manual drawings to produce artwork suitable for inclusion in documentation.
  • Candidate must have an Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Candidate Must be located or willing to locate within the Philadelphia, PA region
  • Candidate must have knowledge of instrumentation and low voltage (<48V) circuit wiring methods and techniques.
  • Candidate must have knowledge of electronics including resistors, capacitors, and other terminal board components.
  • Candidate must be capable of operating mechanical tools, power tools, perform cable terminations, and move heavy equipment to fabricate test enclosures.
  • Candidate must be comfortable working within electrical equipment, including Low Voltage and Medium Voltage switchboards, generators, transformers, and load centers.
  • Candidate must have good organization skills and attention to detail, have strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to utilize and operate software with minimal oversight.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess the ability to develop, coordinate, and execute Work Execution Documents and Technical Artifacts supporting DAS installations.
  • Possess the ability to understand and execute National Electric Code, NFPA 70 for DAS installations on LBTS/LBES.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas.
  • Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems.
  • Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format.
  • Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions.
