About The Position

Herzog Energy, Inc. is currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Superintendent in the United States to join our team. This role involves overseeing the management of electrical construction activities and task assignments for utility-scale solar and BESS projects. The Electrical Superintendent will collaborate with project management and other departments to ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule. They will also work with Project Manager(s) to budget, forecast, and manage craft labor, equipment, materials, small tools, consumables, and the general working environment. A key responsibility is ensuring construction documents, drawings, specifications, and electrical requirements are reviewed for completeness, constructability, and field execution requirements. The position also entails leading the creation, review, and update of project schedules and three-week look ahead scheduling, and overseeing electrical installation activities including DC collection systems, AC systems, inverters, transformers, medium voltage collection systems, substations, and related electrical scopes. Developing and implementing site utilization plans, establishing crew sizes, and driving effective pre-construction planning sessions and project site meetings are also part of the role. The Electrical Superintendent will monitor electrical installation progress, testing activities, and quality requirements to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications. Identifying hiring needs and participating in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions, as well as implementing Herzog’s Safety without Compromise, are crucial. The role requires coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and field teams to resolve electrical installation issues and maintain project schedule, and supporting testing, commissioning, energization, and project turnover activities. Developing relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders is essential for successful project execution. Regular and consistent engagement, participation, and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors, along with regular and predictable attendance and punctuality, are requirements for this position. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of construction management or related experience.
  • Experience managing electrical crews and multiple construction activities simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of solar electrical systems including DC systems, inverters, medium voltage collection systems, substations, testing, and commissioning processes.
  • Knowledge of construction safety, quality, scheduling, and planning processes.
  • Microsoft Office skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required per position.
  • Subject to pre-employment physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen due to the safety sensitive nature of this position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain any required safety certification and testing on an annual basis.
  • Perform light work, occasionally exerting up to 20 pounds of force.
  • Able to walk on uneven surfaces.
  • Occasionally ascend/descend step ladders and/or stairs.
  • Regularly sit and stand for an extended period of time.
  • Regularly kneel, bend, and squat.
  • Must successfully pass color/vision examinations as required by the position.
  • Must be able to hear and distinguish auditory signals as required by the position.
  • Able to work in conditions with loud noise; work on/around heavy/moving machinery.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet).
