Job Summary: Interfacing with and monitoring supervision and craft employees and assigned Subcontractor Supervision and field Engineering, direct hire craft productivity and performance and assigned Subcontractors performance. Ensures adherence by all discipline craft and Subcontractors to safety, quality, schedule and performance expectations as defined by Black and Veatch. Provides craft supervisors with information and technical direction required to complete project safely, timely and in a quality manner. Ensures schedule and project expectations are clearly defined to craft supervision and Subcontractors. Ensures schedule requirements are communicated to all levels of craft discipline. Coordinates interpretation of technical requirements. Provides technical data and information as required to direct hire workforce, the Subcontractors supervision or Construction Engineers. Ensures compliance by workforce or subcontractor to all standards, procedures, and contractual commitments within the bounds of all applicable policies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience of construction field leadership on equivalent projects.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
  • OSHA 10 certification.

Responsibilities

  • Track, verify, and report Battery Storage (BESS) electrical construction activities against the CPM schedule, including project milestones and commodity installation progress.
  • Help craft teams and subcontractors resolve issues related to drawings, project information, schedule, quality, quantity tracking, cost reporting, and safety.
  • Monitor discipline productivity, progress, and cost, and share updates with the Construction Manager and Field Project Controls Manager.
  • Take proactive steps to keep assigned electrical work on target.
  • Lead foreman and subcontractor meetings to support daily, weekly, and monthly planning.
  • Develop and monitor the 3-week look-ahead schedule for assigned work scope.
  • Create corrective plans to help meet progress and productivity targets.
  • Confirm materials, manpower, and other resources needed for the 3-week look-ahead schedule are available and on site.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on completion of craft and subcontractor punch list activities.
  • Maintain a daily site log for project records.
  • Review craft and subcontractor timesheets, installed quantity reports, and progress payment requests.
  • Monitor supplier Technical Service Representative daily logs and review/approve related timesheets.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work plans for assigned craft/subcontractors with other discipline Superintendents and the Construction Manager.
  • Monitor assigned subcontractors for compliance with subcontract scope and schedule requirements.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with assigned subcontractors.
  • Support the Field Subcontract Administrator in preparing extra work authorization requests (RFMPs/WAs).
  • Assist the Construction Engineer with compiling or responding to Contractor Information Requests.
  • Compile and respond to CIRs as required.
  • Oversee execution of work packages and equipment installation.
  • Develop and distribute Job Hazard Analyses for major erection packages within assigned scope.
  • Identify potential backcharges and out-of-scope issues and report them to the Construction Manager.
  • Support the commercial recovery process.
  • Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management for direct reports.
  • Follow applicable safety and quality standards tied to assigned duties and accountabilities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and related change management efforts.
  • Act as a supervisor by providing work direction without people-management responsibility. Supervise direct-hire general foremen and foremen, as well as CM project subcontractors, superintendents, and construction engineers.
