About The Position

This role is responsible for the testing of electrical control systems of vehicles. The engineer will develop functional requirements, understand and apply standard engineering principles within company engineering standards, and create simulations and prototypes to evaluate preliminary designs and test system operations. Responsibilities include testing components, integrating components for final product, monitoring product quality, controlling process efficiency, and evaluating designs for effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. The engineer will also investigate root causes of failures to maintain quality and recommend improvements. This position involves testing controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation, testing, and start-up assistance. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with mechanical engineering to understand kinematics and design controls for refuse collection vehicles, ensuring compliance with applicable government safety and environmental standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are needed for design, programming, and troubleshooting, along with the ability to organize and execute multiple project responsibilities. The engineer will interact with management, clients, and vendors, and serve as a technical mentor to less experienced engineers. Domestic (U.S.) and international travel are required up to 10% to support customer vehicles.
