About The Position

The Electrical Product Engineer supports the design, validation, industrialization, and lifecycle management of high-technology electronic products. The role serves as a technical interface among design engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and test teams to help ensure products are robust, cost-effective, manufacturable, and compliant with performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements. The engineer supports transfer of electrical designs from R&D to manufacturing, reviews schematics, PCB layouts, bills of materials (BOMs), and electrical specifications, and maintains accurate multi-level BOMs. The role contributes to engineering changes and New Product Introduction (NPI), including prototype builds, pilot runs, and production ramp-up, while collaborating on design-for-manufacturing, assembly, and test improvements. The position also develops and maintains electrical test strategies, troubleshoots manufacturing, test, and field-return issues, and supports yield improvement and corrective actions. It participates in design reviews, FMEA, reliability testing, qualification, compliance activities, and failure analysis. The engineer creates and maintains electrical and manufacturing documentation and supports product changes and optimization throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical design transfer from R&D to manufacturing, ensuring design intent, complete documentation, and manufacturability.
  • Review schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, and electrical specifications to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Create, update, and maintain multi-level BOMs for complex assemblies and products, ensuring accuracy of part numbers, descriptions, revisions, and quantities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Validate BOM structures against drawings and manufacturing requirements.
  • Lead or support NPI activities, including prototype builds, pilot runs, and ramp to volume production, by establishing and verifying BOMs.
  • Collaborate with design teams on DFM, DFA, DFT, and cost-reduction improvements.
  • Develop, review, and maintain electrical test strategies, including ICT, functional test, boundary scan, and system-level testing.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues during manufacturing, testing, and field returns using structured root-cause analysis.
  • Support yield improvement initiatives and corrective actions for electrical failures.
  • Work with contract manufacturers and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in design reviews, FMEA, reliability testing, and qualification activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations, including UL, CE, FCC, RoHS, and REACH.
  • Support failure analysis, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain electrical documentation, including schematics, test specifications, ECOs, and manufacturing work instructions.
