About The Position

Amentum is seeking Lead Technician 5 to join our team in Sanford, NC! The Production Maintenance Lead Technicians are responsible for providing an advanced level of expertise in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the production equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment. Perform all aspects of preventive and corrective maintenance on all production-related industrial systems including, but not limited to: CNC machinery, robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, and coolant systems. Provides instruction, mentors and trains less skilled technicians as needed. Effectively communicates with the site management team and the customer to understand requirements, solve complex electrical and mechanical problems, and provide solutions to manufacturing problems. The Production Maintenance Lead Technician identifies and corrects any safety-related issues and performs independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • 6 years of experience in related fields.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technician workforce in the performance of preventive maintenance on process/production equipment as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Respond to and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance with codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tag out procedures and wearing PPE as required.
  • Prepare/complete assigned tasks in conformance with applicable procedure requirements provided by the supervisor.
  • Coordinate work with others in discipline groups and other discipline groups on the project.
  • Responsible for neatness and accuracy of work.
  • Under limited direction, will work in a lead position of complex technical work utilizing a wide variety of resources, including computers and under limited supervision.
  • May train other technicians.
  • May prepare formal reports on experiments, tests, and other projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to less experienced personnel.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of PLC hardware and software, including the ability to create, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs.
