The Electrical Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical wiring, circuits, outlets, lighting, and equipment rated from low voltage to 480 volts. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing motors, transformers, panels, disconnects, and lighting systems. The technician will also install and maintain low-voltage systems such as fire alarms, security systems, intercoms, and building automation controls, as well as maintain and repair school clocks and timing systems. A key aspect of the role is performing predictive maintenance by inspecting electrical systems and equipment to identify potential failures before they occur. The technician will replace or repair faulty wiring, switches, fixtures, and components, adhering to safety codes, and assist with electrically controlled door hardware. Maintaining tools, materials, and equipment in safe working condition and ensuring all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and local codes are also essential duties. Collaboration with other maintenance, HVAC, and construction teams on facility projects and utilizing school dude for building repairs are part of the job. Additional duties may be assigned by the administration.
