Requirements

  • Ability to read and speak English
  • National Electric Code knowledge
  • Electrical skills and industrial equipment/systems knowledge
  • Experience with PLCs and high voltage (480V) required
  • Ability to exert physical strength during the work shift as needed

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems effectively
  • Read wiring schematics/diagrams
  • Run pipe and wire to new and existing systems
  • Remove and install electric drive components
  • Ability to acquire and use mechanical skill/knowledge such as welding, use of pipe threading machines, bandsaws, hand tools and drills.
  • Being under general supervision, the employee is expected to be self-directed, take initiative and be persistent when appropriate to accomplish necessary duties and complete required work without prompting from the supervisor.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three to five years experience in an industrial environment is required
  • Knowledge of equipment including but not limited to PLC's, variable speed drives, dc drives, motors, controls, generators, induction heating equipment, fire alarms, and high voltage (480V)
  • Must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime, holidays and weekends, as necessary.
  • Call-ins may occur as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of computers is preferred.
  • Ability to instruct/transfer job information/knowledge to others
  • Infrequently lift up to 50 pounds is preferred.
  • Formal trade training preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade equipment when required and provide preventive maintenance for the electrical components, processes, equipment, facilities and infrastructure within the facility.
  • Work on the sites' main electrical distribution and infrastructure.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, work orders, electrical schematics/diagrams to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Draw, upgrade, and update electrical schematics as necessary.
  • Perform electrical skills to inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems for plant equipment.
  • Install and/or remove electric drive components as needed.
  • Run pipe and wire to new and existing systems as needed.
  • Provide scheduled and emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant equipment/systems issues.
  • Communicate with others internal and external to the organization to obtain/provide information regarding electrical issues as needed.
  • Record pertinent labor information from work shift.
  • Assist mechanical staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
