About The Position

Bull Moose Tube is seeking to hire two full-time Electrical Maintenance Mechanics in Elkhart, IN. This onsite position involves the maintenance of vital machinery in the steel tube manufacturing industry, specifically focusing on mill and slitter operations. The role requires performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting electrical systems, executing repairs, and ensuring equipment reliability. The position offers a competitive pay up to $35 per hour and a rewarding career path. Requirements

  • Solid foundation in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, motor controls, sensors, and limit switches.
  • Hands-on experience with 3-phase 480V equipment.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Expertise in forklift, tow motor, and overhead crane operation.
  • Experience operating lathes, presses, and grinders.
  • Knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Understanding of safety and quality procedures, including PPE and lockout/tagout protocols.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • High School Diploma/equivalent.
  • Prior manufacturing experience.
  • Machine skills.
  • Ability to read and speak English.

  • Experience with electro/mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Performing routine maintenance on machinery pivotal to steel tube production processes, particularly in the mill and slitter areas.
  • Troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Executing repairs on machinery and equipment.
  • Ensuring equipment reliability.
  • Collaborating with fellow mechanics and production staff.
  • Servicing and maintaining machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds.
  • Utilizing and operating equipment, material, and tools for inspection, diagnostics, and repair/PM on mills, slitter, tool room equipment, and misc facility needs.
  • Supporting all plant functions, maintaining equipment in an operable, safe capacity.
  • Complying with all safety, quality, customer focus, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping standards.
  • Reading and applying micrometer, caliper, gages, and tape measure.
  • Reading and interpreting manufacturing recommendations.
  • Performing Preventive Maintenance (PMs).
  • Demonstrating mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge and aptitude.
  • Operating forklift, tow motor, and overhead crane.
  • Understanding quality standards.
  • Operating lathes, presses, and grinders.
  • Maintaining inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requests for purchase.
  • Periodically reviewing inventory for proper upkeep.
  • Recommending equipment and process improvements to improve efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.
  • Communicating via proper documentation to supervisor and appropriate management resources regarding quality and equipment problems, issues, and concerns.
  • Following all applicable procedures and instructions including but not limited to preventative and routine maintenance, troubleshooting, process improvements, reporting of time and materials consumed, and actively supporting business practices set forth by BMT, employees, contractors, and other resources.
  • Working with work groups and teams to support the sustainability and continuous improvements of BMT and stakeholders.
  • Maintaining regular and reliable attendance.
  • Working cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships.
  • Complying with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Understanding and effectively using computerized business systems and other technology and business platforms.
