About The Position

Bull Moose Tube Company is seeking two Electrical Maintenance Mechanics with a strong electrical and general mechanical background for their Elkhart, Indiana manufacturing site. This role is responsible for the electrical and mechanical servicing and efficient maintenance of machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds in accordance with state and federal regulations and Company processes. The position involves using equipment, materials, and tools for inspection, diagnostics, and repair/preventative maintenance on mills, slitters, tool room equipment, and miscellaneous facility needs. The role supports all plant functions by maintaining equipment in safe and operable condition, and adheres to all safety, quality, customer focus, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping standards. All other duties as assigned and expected.

Requirements

  • Prior manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Read and apply micrometer, caliper, gages and tape measure.
  • Read and interpret manufacturing recommendations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs).
  • Demonstrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge and aptitude.
  • Operate fork truck and tow motor.
  • Understand quality standards.
  • Run overhead crane.
  • Experience with lathes, presses, and grinders.
  • Familiarity with PLC's, motor controls, sensors, limit switches, and electro/mechanical systems.
  • Experience with 3-phase 480vt equipment.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of Company quality requirements.
  • Maintain inventories of maintenance material, supplies, and repair parts at required levels by initiating requests for purchase.
  • Periodically review inventory for proper upkeep.
  • Recommend equipment and process improvements to improve efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction.
  • Communicate via proper documentation to supervisor and appropriate management resources regarding quality and equipment problems, issues, and concerns.
  • Follow all applicable procedures and instructions including but not limited to preventative and routine maintenance, troubleshooting, process improvements, reporting of time and materials consumed, and actively support business practices set forth by BMT, employees, contractors, and other resources.
  • Work with work groups and teams to support the sustainability and continuous improvements of BMT and stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Work cooperatively with others to ensure constructive and productive business relationships.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
  • Be able to understand and effectively use computerized business systems and other technology and business platforms.
