Working within a purpose-built 70,000 sq. foot manufacturing test facility, our Electrical Lab Technicians perform a vital role in inspecting micro/electronic components from customers and suppliers for quality and potential counterfeit items. Progression within the company is encouraged, and all staff undergo a high level of training. The primary role is to perform electrical testing of components utilizing test fixtures designed by SMT Corp engineers. This process is completed on 100% of the components in a customer’s order. Lot sizes can vary significantly, and total test time per lot can range from less than 1 hour up to several months. This role requires consistent, efficient, and accurate execution of testing procedures to achieve customer throughput requirements. Electrical test lab technicians will also perform screening and qualification of components in accordance with MIL-STD-883 and MIL-STD-750. On-the-job training will consist of material handling procedures, electrical test equipment operations, and basic failure analysis. The Electrical Test Lab is part of the SMT Corp counterfeit mitigation testing process, which is used to authenticate and screen electronic components. Due to the lack of traceability, SMT Corp utilizes industry-standard testing methods such as AS6171 or AS6081 to authenticate the material. As part of that process, the Electrical Test Lab performs electrical testing to validate that the components meet the original component manufacturer’s specifications and quality requirements.
