About The Position

The Electrician will participate in the installation or maintenance and inspection of electrical systems and associated processes. These are long term permanent positions with a highly respected and growing Employee-owned Design Build Construction Firm!

Requirements

Ability to work independently or as part of a team
3 years of Field Experience, trade school or apprenticeship
Appropriate State journeyman license
OSHA 10 certification

Responsibilities

Regular attendance at assigned location; may include A/Z office or other project site
Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows blueprints, insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring
Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit, using such tools as hacksaw, pipe threader and conduit bender
Oversees or participates in wire installation with conduit and cable trays
Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit-breaker panels, fastening in place with screws or bolts, using hand tools and power tools
Connects power cables to equipment, such as motor, and installs grounding leads
Test continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope
Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation or replacement
Perform other routine duties as directed by workplace leader, electrical panels, and standby generation
Avoid unsightly, hazardous and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes, redlining drawings, complete documentation with as found and as left conditions
Must maintain strict adherence to safety rules and quality
Participate in site housekeeping
Interact with co-workers in an attentive courteous manner
