About The Position

HDR is seeking an Electrical Intern/Co-Op for its East Region Design Center, based in the Raleigh, North Carolina office. The intern will contribute to the team by creating electrical designs for facilities across multiple markets, including water/wastewater, municipal, industrial, power, and federal. The role offers collaboration with talented staff and multidisciplinary design teams on electrical systems such as power distribution, lighting, communications, and security. HDR describes its Building Engineering Services Group as designing infrastructure for data centers and commercial environments, with work supporting technological advancement, sustainability, and human experience.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office skills.
• Commitment to actively participating in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Nice To Haves

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Electrical Engineering program.
• Preferably have completed two years toward the degree and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Good proficiency with Revit.
• Related field or office work experience.
• Preference given to local candidates.

Responsibilities

• Create electrical drawings for facilities in water/wastewater, municipal, industrial, power, and federal markets, covering systems such as power distribution, lighting, communications, and security.
• Support, coordinate, and work closely with multidisciplinary design teams.
• Perform basic electrical calculations and design layout plans and power one-line diagrams.
• Assist Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs, or BIM Specialists as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
