This role is generally responsible for performing all aspects of the design of complex electrical and instrumentation assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This level requires extensive progressive experience in electrical and instrumentation design and involves applying advanced design techniques and analysis. This position requires some supervision of less experienced personnel and will be performed under general supervision. Primary responsibilities will include familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards, producing installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor control elementaries, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting, power and instrumentation plans under minimal supervision, recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly, providing on-site assistance during startup, providing technical guidance to less experienced drafting personnel, coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead, and producing equipment and installation specifications with engineering review and approval. The position requires a complete understanding of the skills and experience required to perform design functions.
