About The Position

As a Skilled Trades Instructor - Electrical, you will provide hands-on training and classroom instruction in electrical trade skills. You will demonstrate proper technique, safety, and attention to detail, while coaching, teaching, inspiring, and leading future electrical professionals. The role includes using approved curriculum, developing training materials as needed, coordinating practical training activities, and supporting students’ development and placement. HBI trains and educates America’s home construction workforce and delivers technical construction trades and entrepreneurship programs to youth and adults through Job Corps programs, Military Services, Academies, and programs in correctional facilities.

Requirements

Ability to meet Career Technical Training requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent and/or a combination of work, education, and skills equivalent to journey-level experience in the electrical trade.

Responsibilities

Instruct program participants in electrical trade skills using approved curriculum.
Develop curriculum and supporting training materials as needed.
Coordinate hands-on training activities, including on-site and community-based projects.
Demonstrate proper use of tools and equipment, emphasizing safety.
Assist with student recruitment, placement, and employability training as directed or required by program needs.
Monitor, mentor, and coach students.
Foster positive working relationships with and between funders, program partners, and other personnel.
Participate in outreach and employer relationship development.
Perform administrative and reporting functions as required.
Ensure proper use, storage, and security of tools and equipment.
Adhere to applicable safety protocols, including OSHA 10.
