Job Description: Job Family Definition: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hardware Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our Next Gen Storage products. As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in the design and development of PCB/PCA solutions, collaborating with both internal and outsourced development partners. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of low to moderately complex projects, applying your expertise in electrical engineering, design tools, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Typically, 2-4 years' experience in hardware design, preferably in the field of electrical engineering.
  • Proficiency in using electrical design tools and software packages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling you to tackle moderately complex hardware design challenges and provide effective solutions.
  • Expertise in designing integrated circuitry and algorithms, leveraging your knowledge of electrical engineering principles and best practices.
  • Ability to employ empirical analysis, modeling, and testing methodologies to validate components, circuits, and hardware designs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with mastery in English and the local language.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities are essential for presenting design proposals and discussing options with team members and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with Cadence CAD and schematics capture tools is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of thermal and emissions management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Designs portions of engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans for existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, thermal generation, and system power measurements.
  • Collaborates and communicates with internal and outsourced development partners on electrical hardware design and development.
  • Participates as a member of project team of other electrical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions for low to moderately- complex products.
  • Capture schematics for integrated circuit designs (PCAs), focusing on specific portions of the overall design. Utilize your knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design practices to create efficient and reliable solutions.
  • Develop CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device) code using Verilog. Contribute to enhancing the functionality and performance of the hardware through optimized code implementation.
  • Coordinate the submission of requests for new CAD library parts, including part numbers (PNs), footprints, and symbols. Ensure the availability of required components for successful hardware design.
  • Generate comprehensive design documentation, build instructions, and rework procedures for Design Validation Testing (DVT). Collaborate with the team to validate designs and ensure adherence to specifications.
  • Work closely with internal and outsourced development partners, fostering effective collaboration on electrical hardware design and development. As a valuable member of the HW development project team, contribute to the development of reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality solutions.
