About The Position

The Electrical Helper will support all Journeyman Electricians by performing foundational tasks like preparing work areas, handling tools, measuring and cutting wire/conduit, and stripping insulation. The Electrical Helper will work on construction sites or in service, assisting with installations and repairs while adhering to safety regulations and learning the trade.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic mathematical knowledge, strong communication, ability to follow instructions, and physical stamina for lifting and working in tight spaces.
  • Punctual, reliable, and possessing a strong desire to learn the electrical trade.

Responsibilities

  • Material and Tool Handling: Supplying, holding, and maintaining materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Site Preparation & Maintenance: Cleaning work areas, drilling holes for wiring, and installing anchors.
  • Basic Electrical Work: Measuring, cutting, and bending conduit and wire; stripping insulation from wire ends; and attaching wires to terminals.
  • Troubleshooting Assistance: Assisting with testing circuits and examining electrical units for loose connections or broken insulation.
  • Safety Compliance: Wearing protective equipment and following safety protocols to work safely around electrical hazards.
