About The Position

Andrenam is looking for a Harness Technician to join our hardware team. You'll be hands-on building the physical systems that enable real-time sensing and communication across autonomous maritime platforms. This is a critical role on a team where every wire, connector, and harness assembly directly contributes to national defense and naval operations. We're looking for someone who takes pride in precise, reliable workmanship and thrives in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment where quality isn't negotiable.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience fabricating wire harnesses or cable assemblies in an aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics environment.
  • Proficiency with crimping tools, soldering irons, and associated hand tools; ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Familiarity with a variety of connector types across industries (e.g., automotive, industrial, consumer electronics); comfort adapting to new connector systems as needed.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing defect-free assemblies.
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills; ability to surface issues, ask the right questions, and keep engineering informed of assembly challenges in real time.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple builds simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 certification or training.
  • Experience building to MIL-SPEC or other defense/aerospace standards.
  • Familiarity with waterproof or ruggedized connector systems (e.g., Deutsch, Amphenol, Souriau).
  • Exposure to underwater, maritime, or submersible system builds.
  • Experience supporting engineering teams during early-stage prototype development.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate wire harnesses and cable assemblies from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and verbal instructions.
  • Perform crimping, soldering, splicing, and connector termination on a variety of wire gauges and connector types.
  • Install and route harnesses and cable assemblies in hardware enclosures and system builds.
  • Conduct continuity, hi-pot, and functional electrical testing on completed assemblies.
  • Identify and communicate design or workmanship issues to engineering and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain organized work areas and accurate documentation for all assemblies built.
  • Support prototype builds and production ramp, adapting quickly as designs evolve.
