About The Position

The Electrical General Foreman will actively support the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.” This role requires representing the Company with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.” The foreman will establish work sequences, track daily production, and keep projects on schedule and within budget. This position involves leading and supervising foreman and electrical crews in assembling, installing, testing, and maintaining electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctioning systems, connecting wires, inspecting electrical systems for hazards, and enforcing state and federal regulations, including OSHA standards and Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) electrical safety rules. The foreman will advise management on equipment safety and test electrical systems to ensure compatibility and safety. Planning the layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes is also a key function. Maintaining a current electrician's license is required. The role also involves working well with others and identifying and correcting safety hazards.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid Washington State Journeyman Electrician License (EL01 or higher, such as a Master Electrician).
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the electrical trade, industrial or refinery maintenance experience with extensive prior experience as an electrical foreman.
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of the national Electrical Code (NEC) and Washington electrical laws.
  • Knowledge of industry hand and power tools.
  • Complete the Matrix Service Safety training and Client/Site specific training.
  • Must obtain and maintain active status within the drug testing program.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Establish work sequences, track daily production, and keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Lead and supervise foreman and electrical crews.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
  • Enforce state and federal regulations, including OSHA standards and Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) electrical safety rules.
  • Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
  • Maintain current electrician's license to meet governmental regulations.
  • Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as requested by construction Management.
