About The Position

Royal Electric Company is hiring for an Electrical Foreman for our infrastructure team. This role will support projects in the Austin and San Antonio areas. Success in this position involves coordinating logistics, preplanning and executing construction tasks, creating and managing material orders, ensuring safety protocols are followed, collaborating on work breakdown structures and production plans, implementing prefabrication and virtual construction opportunities, updating project schedules, performing daily documentation, communicating production goals, and playing an active role in employee development and project closeout. Requirements

  • Active TX Journeyman License
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on construction trade or project experience in the electrical industry, preferably with underground, distribution, and/or airport projects.
  • Experience leading crews of 1–10 journeymen/apprentices on single or multiple projects.
  • Experience in motor controls, PLC's, DC controls & AC power, contactors & relay's, I/O and control wiring.
  • Experience in switchgear and transformers.
  • Experience with motors, overloads, and MCC's.
  • Must be able to complete all necessary competent person tests and certifications.
  • Must be able for airport badging process.
  • Must have a clean DMV record.
  • Ability to forecast 3 to 4 weeks.
  • Proven ability to manage projects while efficiently coordinating and collaborating with the team.
  • Must be proficient in scheduling and have experience utilizing productivity software, including scheduling platforms such as MS Project or P6.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow-up skills internally and externally.
  • Ability to prioritize, complete tasks, and address issues in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be detail-orientated and well organized.
  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks to project team.
  • Ability to build and maintain relations with customers, vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work with a team and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate logistics for lodging and site/yard prep, including USA markings and tickets, security, office space, and potential housing requirements.
  • Work with GS and/or Superintendent on preplanning and executing the construction portion of the proven process.
  • Create a Bill of Materials (BOM) with buy-in from PM and/or Superintendent, submit to Buyer, and ensure material alignment with the schedule.
  • Manage onsite coordination of material according to logistical/staging requirements and schedule.
  • Plan safety into every task, identifying hazards, training/certifications, and specialized equipment needed.
  • Ensure all personnel perform work safely, review JHAs/THAs, ensure competent persons are on site, and that PPE is worn at all times.
  • Assign tasks to crew members based on their skill set and physical capability.
  • Collaborate with the Superintendent and/or to create and maintain a work breakdown structure and production plan for major activities.
  • Determine data tracking methods and use the project schedule and WBS to identify necessary resources (material, equipment, labor) for each activity.
  • Work with PM and project team to implement prefab and virtual construction opportunities.
  • Coordinate schedules with VC and Manufacturing departments for delivery of items.
  • Review and update the overall project schedule, WBS, and CTC with PM.
  • Perform daily documentation, including timecards, equipment utilization, daily reports, and production tracking using productivity software.
  • Communicate production goals daily and ensure availability of labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Continuously track daily production against goals to identify and remove obstacles, escalating issues if goals cannot be met.
  • Play an active role in employee development and disciplinary processes.
  • Execute project closeout plan.
  • Perform tasks based on project needs.
