The Electrical Design Implementation section within the Sensors and Systems department is hiring an undergraduate-level electrical engineering intern. The selected candidate will be required to work full-time, on-site at our facility in El Segundo, CA.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree with a focus on electrical engineering or related discipline
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term and ability to return to a Bachelor's degree program full-time after completion of the internship.
  • Sophomore class standing completed by internship start date
  • Knowledge of standard electrical engineering toolkits
  • Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government.
  • U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Experience in an engineering work environment, including circuit design
  • Prior experience in a leadership role (either volunteer or paid)
  • Experience in the use of C, Python and/or Matlab
  • Experience in embedded systems
  • Active security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Participating in interdisciplinary teams supporting the build and test of prototype systems
  • Reviewing electrical engineering data for compliance with standards
  • Supporting senior engineering staff in documentation and nonconformance resolutions
  • Performing electrical engineering design activities under supervision
  • Creating reports and presentations in MS Word or PowerPoint
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed
  • Training and mentorship will be provided
