About The Position

Anduril is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technician to join the Sentry Engineering team in Irvine, California. The team develops AI-enabled hardware products and systems that provide autonomous awareness across land, sea, and air for critical infrastructure and other applications. The technician will fabricate and assemble prototype electrical designs in support of early engineering development, integration, and testing, and collaborate with part designers to understand requirements and provide design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly feedback. The role requires hands-on work with cable harnesses, PCB assemblies, and other electromechanical assemblies.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of hands-on experience in electronics testing, assembly, and rework in an R&D or production environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics, assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and technical datasheets.
  • Proficiency in fine-pitch SMT and through-hole soldering to IPC J-STD-001 or equivalent standards.
  • Experience with PCB rework, component replacement, and modification.
  • Experience building and modifying complex cable and wire harness assemblies, including crimping, soldering connectors, and wire routing to IPC-620 or equivalent standards.
  • Ability to diagnose electronic failures to the component level using standard test equipment and documentation.
  • Understanding of product development lifecycles, reliability, and compliance testing.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to self-organize and prioritize simultaneous tasks in an electronics lab or test environment.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Technologies, or a related field.
  • Active IPC-610, IPC-620, and J-STD-001 certifications.
  • Experience using ECAD viewers such as Altium, Eagle, or OrCAD to locate components on board layouts.
  • Familiarity with environmental testing, including thermal chambers, vibration tables, and burn-in procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and modify complex cable and wire harness assemblies, including crimping contacts, soldering connectors, and routing wires according to schematics and build documentation.
  • Perform precision PCB rework and assembly, including SMT and through-hole soldering, component replacement, and jumper-wire installation under a microscope.
  • Perform conformal coating and staking operations.
  • Set up, configure, and operate benchtop test equipment to execute test plans and verify PCB and integrated electronic system performance.
  • Troubleshoot electronic assembly failures down to the component level using schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams, and perform necessary repairs.
  • Document test data, rework actions, assembly details, and failure modes to support engineering analysis and continuous improvement.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe lab environment, including equipment calibration.
  • Provide technical design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly feedback to part designers.

Benefits

  • Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full-time offers.
  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost to employees.
