About The Position
Provides highly skilled technical support to engineers and programs to ensure timely completion of project design(s). Conducts most complex integration, testing of products/systems and documents results. Trains, mentors and provides support to lower level staff.
Requirements
- Excellent soldering skills
- Ability to interpret schematics, diagrams, and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Security clearance (Note: Clearances are only granted to US Citizens
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 6+ years of related experience.
Nice To Haves
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or a related technical degree.
- Experience supporting DoD, Navy, or defense electronics.
- Familiarity with MIL-STD electronics, EMI/EMC considerations, or ruggedized systems.
- Knowledge of cable harnessing, PCB rework, or prototype fabrication.
- Experience with test instrumentation automation or data acquisition systems.
- J-STD-001 certification
- IPC-A-620 certification
- Exposure to AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality systems.
- Experience with prototype fabrication, test fixtures, or environmental testing.
Responsibilities
- Building, assembling, wiring, and testing electronic systems, modules, and prototypes for maritime defense applications.
- Maintain equipment, organize lab workspaces, and enforce safety and configuration control practices.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and engineering drawings.
- Train and provide support to lower-level staff.
- Diagnose, repair, and test complex electronic subsystems with support from engineering.
- Perform electrical testing, data collection, instrumentation setup, and troubleshooting of circuits and components.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and systems engineers to support project goals.
- Participate in occasional travel (up to 15% ) for field testing, training, and customer support.
