About The Position

This role is part of the Product Development Electrical Engineering team and is responsible for overseeing planning, execution, and on-time delivery of electrical hardware projects. The role supports the development of electrical hardware projects throughout their development lifecycle – from ideation through production launch. The Electrical Engineering Project Manager will also support the electrical engineering team in completing assigned project work on time by identifying and removing roadblocks. This role coordinates with Program Managers, project managers and a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve program goals, milestones, and deliveries. The position monitors project progress and status including weekly and monthly reporting, risk management, and project performance / timing metrics to engineering leadership. The role also facilitates cross-functional coordination meetings and develops and maintains technology and hardware supplier development agreements, schedules, acceptance criteria, and deliveries.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded electrical hardware or multidisciplinary embedded project leadership, with a proven history of successful product launches.
  • Proven ability to manage complex hardware projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Be a team player with practical, hands-on experience and aptitude.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to explain complex concepts, through drawings and charts, as an effective means of communication.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate project technical and schedule risks to organization stakeholders.
  • Experience with project management tools and software (Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, M365 Copilot.
  • Experience with Jama Connect (or similar software tool) for requirements management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing outside suppliers of hardware design services.
  • Experience managing hardware development teams working alongside software teams executing projects in an Agile development environment.
  • Technical training, i.e., SAE lighting requirements, SAE vehicle specifications, automotive OEM requirements, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
  • Experience working with on-site electronic manufacturing and assembly teams.

Responsibilities
