About The Position

As an Electrical Engineering Intern in Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group, you will contribute to projects involving critical electrical systems and large power components for existing nuclear plants, restart projects, small modular reactors, and advanced reactor facilities. The work also supports plant life-extension and digital-upgrade initiatives intended to improve nuclear energy safety, efficiency, and reliability. Working under the direction of senior engineers, you will receive daily technical supervision and support from engineers and subject matter experts. You will apply and expand your academic background through hands-on work, technical training, and collaboration across engineering disciplines. You will use industry standards, internal technical guidance, and established performance-improvement resources to help deliver safe and reliable solutions. The role offers exposure to station procedures, project requirements, client stakeholders, project schedules and budgets, and the path to professional engineering licensure. You will also participate in a multidisciplinary mock engineering project, developing and presenting an engineered solution based on a detailed problem statement, design inputs, and requirements. The target start date is summer 2027. The stated compensation range is $18.00–$30.00. Sargent & Lundy does not sponsor U.S. work authorization for this position.
