About The Position

LiquidPiston is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join its Electronics team for Summer 2027. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers on electrical and control systems for next-generation engines, gaining hands-on experience with embedded firmware, electronics, sensors, controls, and hardware testing. The role involves troubleshooting engineering problems, working with test hardware, analyzing data, and contributing solutions tested on engine systems. It is intended for an engineering student interested in the development process from circuit and firmware development through hardware integration, testing, troubleshooting, and iteration. The position is based onsite in Suffield, Connecticut, five days per week, and is a paid, full-time summer internship.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits and fundamental electrical engineering principles.
  • Solid programming experience in C or C++.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work hands-on with hardware and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary engineering team.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced R&D environment.
  • Ability to work onsite five days per week.
