About The Position

This posting is for Summer 2027 Internship opportunities. IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Greenwood Village, CO. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems in buildings while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants on real project work. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in a mentored environment, supporting design, documentation, coordination, and project delivery while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will contribute to work serving commercial and institutional markets.

Requirements

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Previous exposure to CAD and/or BIM software
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with design portions of electrical systems projects according to code and IMEG standards.
  • Assist with researching commercially available equipment and resources.
  • Assist with client relations, project design notebook documentation, and permanent record files.
  • Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical and equipment suppliers.
  • Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
  • Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check.
  • Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and all other services as required by the contract services agreement.
