Intern, Electrical Engineering Designer
About The Position
Introba is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join its Kansas City office for the Summer of 2027. The intern will assist engineers and engineering staff in a variety of project support roles, gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative environment while developing engineering knowledge and skills. Work includes supporting the production of engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under close supervision of senior engineers, and applying appropriate codes and standards to engineering deliverables. Introba provides building engineering design, analytics, and consulting services, with an emphasis on net-zero-first thinking and sustainable, forward-looking solutions. The company describes a collaborative workforce of engineers, designers, and consultants across five countries.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at an accredited university program.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and engineering software.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Commitment to integrity and ethical, fair, and responsible behavior.
- Commitment to innovation and continuous learning.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to computer-aided design software such as AutoCAD or Revit.
Responsibilities
- Become familiar with engineering plans and details.
- Perform quantity take-offs.
- Assist with project monitoring and scheduling.
- Assist with computer modeling.
- Assist with producing progress reports.
- Collaborate with other engineers, drafters, and support staff.
- Assist in producing engineering drawings, calculations, and cost estimates under close supervision of senior engineers.
- Apply proper codes and standards in the production of engineering deliverables.
