About The Position

This role offers rotational work assignments through Engineering Lab, Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), and Product Engineering, based on academic achievement. In the Engineering Lab, students will gain exposure to various products, assist technicians and engineers with feasibility studies and competitive evaluations, learn to use lab equipment, and analyze/present test data. In CAE, students will work with designers, drafters, and engineers using the latest computer-aided engineering technology for new product design and development. In Product Engineering, students will be involved in the new product development process, including engineering analysis, failure analysis, and simulation, to understand the steps in developing robust products that meet customer requirements. Specific tasks include conducting tests with lab equipment, building circuit board prototypes using through-hole and surface mount technologies, creating schematics and PCB layouts on CAD, and designing, building, and testing complete circuit boards.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field
  • Ability to work full-time during the scheduled semester
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided

Nice To Haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
  • Ability to return for multiple co-op rotations

Responsibilities

  • Conduct tests using various types of lab equipment.
  • Build circuit board prototypes using through-hole and surface mount technologies.
  • Create schematics and PCB layout used to design embedded circuit boards on CAD.
  • Design, build, and test complete circuit boards.
  • Assist in conducting 'hands-on' feasibility studies of new product concepts or competitive evaluations.
  • Assist in the design and development of new products.
  • Perform engineering analysis, failure analysis, and simulation as part of the new product development process.
