About The Position

Kimley-Horn is seeking Electrical Engineering graduates to join their Sacramento, California office in 2027. This role involves utilizing technical software for analysis and deliverable production, solving complex problems, assisting project managers, and collaborating across disciplines. The position requires developing familiarity with regulations and company standards, designing electrical systems for solar, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, and buildings, and performing work on various projects including photometrics, lighting, and power distribution. Responsibilities also include assisting with technical specifications, report writing, and electrical equipment cost research.

Requirements

  • An ABET accredited Electrical Engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) by Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards
  • Design of electrical systems including solar, battery storage, electric vehicle charging and building electrical
  • Perform work on a wide variety of projects, such as photometrics and lighting, power distribution, EV charging, and more
  • Assist with technical specification and report writing electrical equipment cost research
