About The Position

Kimley-Horn is looking for Electrical Engineering graduates to join our Sacramento, California (CA) office in 2027! This is not a remote position. The role involves utilizing technical software programs to analyze, produce, and quality control deliverables for clients, solving complex problems, assisting project managers, and collaborating across disciplines. The position will also involve developing familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company and client practices. Responsibilities include the design of electrical systems for solar, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, and building electrical systems, as well as performing work on a variety of projects such as photometrics and lighting, power distribution, and EV charging. The role also includes assisting with technical specification and report writing, and electrical equipment cost research.

Requirements

  • An ABET accredited Electrical Engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) by Summer 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients
  • Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment
  • Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards
  • Design of electrical systems including solar, battery storage, electric vehicle charging and building electrical
  • Perform work on a wide variety of projects, such as photometrics and lighting, power distribution, EV charging, and more
  • Assist with technical specification and report writing
  • Electrical equipment cost research
