About The Position

Our client is an established MEP engineering organization supporting complex commercial, healthcare, residential, and process projects with a strong multidisciplinary team. This opportunity offers an Electrical Engineer the chance to contribute to technically demanding projects while working alongside professionals focused on quality, innovation, and practical engineering solutions. The role combines hands-on electrical engineering with opportunities to provide project-level technical leadership.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive MEP Engineering experience with a strong emphasis on Electrical System Design across commercial, healthcare, residential, and process environments.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience progressing from hands-on technical engineering into discipline or project management, including project strategy, team coordination, and technical oversight.
  • Strong experience with load analysis, including demand load, connected load, voltage drop, short-circuit, and energy code calculations.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage and medium-voltage systems, backup power systems, generators, UPS systems, automatic transfer switches, and electrical distribution components.
  • Experience with lighting design, lighting controls, fire alarm systems, nurse call systems, photovoltaic systems, battery energy storage systems, and cogeneration applications.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Energy Pro; familiarity with Trane and Carrier project environments is beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of California Building Codes and Regulations, ASHRAE standards, and applicable electrical industry standards, with the ability to apply requirements to healthcare and commercial design.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or required based on project responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical system design activities and coordinate technical deliverables across multidisciplinary MEP projects from concept through construction.
  • Prepare electrical engineering calculations, specifications, control sequences, diagrams, point lists, and technical reports supporting project execution.
  • Design and coordinate power infrastructure, including normal and emergency distribution, feeders, distribution equipment, grounding and bonding, and end-use connections.
  • Perform field investigations and coordinate with utilities, authorities having jurisdiction, project stakeholders, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical requirements.
  • Provide electrical discipline management, design quality control, Engineer of Record support, and technical oversight while evaluating system alternatives and guiding project teams.
