  • Hands-on experience in analog and digital electronic circuit design, signal and controls theory, development, associated electrical board design, troubleshooting, and validation.
  • Understanding of AC/DC power-distribution systems.
  • In-depth system-level understanding of electrical architecture, system integration, and applications.
  • Excellent working knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) and low-voltage circuit design for power and control applications.
  • Expertise in applying power and controls technologies for systems automation.
  • Knowledge of CAD tools for circuit design and simulation, such as ORCAD, ZUKEN, or Spice.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to define functional requirements and execute in a dynamic team environment.
  • Familiarity with design for serviceability (DFS), manufacturability (DFM), and reliability.
  • High proficiency in troubleshooting systems using tools such as network sniffers, protocol analyzers, and tool logs.
  • Experience troubleshooting with problem-solving techniques such as 5-Why, 8D, fishbone analysis, and general root-cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical presentations.
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry or a related industry such as industrial, automotive, or military.
  • Experience using and applying FMEA for reliable, risk-mitigated designs.
  • Knowledge of SEMI standards, specifically SEMI S2/S22.
  • Knowledge of IPC-610 and IPC-620 quality standards for boards and cabling/interconnects.
  • Excellent instrumentation skills, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analysis, and dataloggers.
  • EtherCAT device integration and TwinCAT knowledge.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety testing and high-voltage/breakdown basics, such as hipot and ground-bond testing.
  • Basic RF knowledge.
  • Knowledge of solenoid/air-operated valve control (interlocking tables) related to gas delivery, mass flow controllers, and open- and closed-loop DC heater controls.
  • Self-starter with drive to make a difference.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop highly complex electrical systems, subsystems, and solutions using engineering methods.
  • Contribute to research and development for future products by collecting and analyzing data to improve electrical system designs.
  • Develop functional specifications for complex electrical and electromechanical systems and power-distribution components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering design teams to design and modify custom and OEM system components.
  • Conduct hands-on testing and validation using laboratory equipment to characterize electrical and electromechanical system performance.
  • Prepare reports and technical presentations communicating design intent, analysis, and results to diverse audiences during design reviews.
  • Act as a resource and mentor for more junior colleagues.
