About The Position

Dewberry is seeking an Electrical Engineer with a Professional Engineering (PE) license to join their Fairfax, VA headquarters team. This role offers flexibility, with potential for remote work. The engineer will work within a dynamic, multi-discipline team, responsible for designing and producing Electrical construction documents for high-profile commercial and institutional projects, and crafting innovative building systems. Requirements

  • BSEE or Arch Engineering degree.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical power, lighting and fire alarm system design.
  • PE required.
  • Experience designing electrical systems and producing design documents for listed project types in Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative, drive and determination.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.

Nice To Haves

  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • Experience with Navisworks would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, drawing production, building information modeling (BIM), specification writing, discipline coordination between the various trades, shop drawing and submittal reviews, construction site reviews, and code reviews for MEP systems for Dewberry projects.
  • Focus on electrical systems for buildings, with potential to assist with other building systems and the construction process in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and construction services.
  • Work on base building and tenant interior systems for commercial, retail, mixed-use, residential, hotel, transportation, education, and various other project types including microgrids, EV Charging Stations, Fault Current and Arc Flash Studies, and Battery Energy Storage Systems.
  • Participate in opportunities in other Dewberry offices.
  • Review MEP systems designed by others, interface with code officials and contractors, work with architects and other clients, and collaborate with others within the Dewberry organization.
  • Assist with the design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection.
