Electrical Engineer - Robotics

Mach Industries•Huntington Beach, CA
•$115,000 - $260,000

About The Position

Mach Industries is seeking an electrical engineer for its new, non-defense consumer robotics program. The role involves building complete systems end-to-end in close partnership with mechanical, hardware, and software engineering peers, turning concepts into products. The engineer will design electrical subsystems from ideation through production, balancing performance, safety, and manufacturability; deliver validated hardware through schematic capture, PCB development, bring-up, and production support; and develop firmware for hardware platforms in tightly integrated systems. The role also requires cross-functional collaboration to ensure electrical systems integrate robustly with firmware, controls, and mechanical systems. The posting presents compensation levels for Engineer, Senior Engineer, and Principal Engineer. Offers may include equity, and the company describes benefits including healthcare, dental and vision plans, retirement savings, paid time off, and professional development. Employment may be conditioned on authorization to receive technology controlled under U.S. export control laws without sponsorship for an export license.

Requirements

  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals and familiarity with state-of-the-art embedded electrical design.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience turning ideas into hardware.
  • Experience taking ambiguous, open-ended problems and creating workable designs.
  • Intrinsic curiosity about hard problems and motivation to learn unfamiliar systems.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate risks and solutions clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, computer science, robotics, physics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2–5 years designing and shipping electrical systems.
  • Experience developing and debugging electrical prototypes, harnesses, or cable assemblies.
  • Deep understanding of PCB design and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and related tools.
  • Ability to read and create electrical schematics and wiring documentation.
  • Experience designing motor drives or actuator control systems.
  • Experience with common MCU hardware platforms, such as STM32, ESP32, or similar.
  • Experience with peripherals and protocols such as I2C, SPI, CAN, UART, ETHERCAT, or similar.
  • Familiarity with high-power electronics and thermal design.
  • Familiarity with mechanical CAD workflows and hardware integration processes.

Responsibilities

  • Design critical electrical subsystems from ideation through production, balancing performance, safety, and manufacturability.
  • Deliver validated hardware designs from concept through schematic capture, PCB development, bring-up, and production support.
  • Develop firmware for hardware platforms operating in a tightly integrated system.
  • Partner cross-functionally to build robust electrical systems that integrate with firmware, controls, and mechanical systems.

Benefits

  • Competitive salaries.
  • Performance-based incentives tied to individual and company performance.
  • Stock options or equity participation.
  • Healthcare, dental, and vision plans.
  • Retirement savings plans.
  • Paid time off.
  • Funds for continuing education, training, and career growth.
