About The Position

IPS Group is seeking a well-rounded Electrical Engineer to support Manufacturing and Operations through Sustaining Engineering activities. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving existing products, supporting manufacturing operations, troubleshooting product issues, implementing engineering changes, and contributing to new product introductions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in schematic capture and PCB design using Altium Designer, component selection, root cause analysis, manufacturing support, and product lifecycle management. This position offers an exciting opportunity to participate in the full engineering process, from concept validation through mass production support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Electrical Engineering experience preferred.
  • Experience in Sustaining Engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting production and manufacturing operations.
  • Hands-on manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuit design, component selection, and PCB assembly processes.
  • Experience with engineering change management processes, including: New Product Introduction (NPI), New Item Add (NIA), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Programming and scripting experience using: Linux, Python, C++, SQL or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience using electronic test and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for existing products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Investigate and resolve product, manufacturing, and field-related issues through structured root cause analysis.
  • Support New Item Adds (NIA), Engineering Change Requests (ECR), and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
  • Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and transition products into manufacturing.
  • Develop and implement product improvements to enhance quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
  • Validate engineering designs and release products into mass production.
  • Create and modify electrical schematics and printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) using Altium Designer.
  • Select and qualify electronic components while considering cost, availability, performance, and reliability.
  • Develop, review, and maintain engineering documentation and technical specifications.
  • Support firmware and software development efforts as needed.
  • Provide direct engineering support to manufacturing operations.
  • Define, document, and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and rework processes.
  • Collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
  • Support failure analysis and corrective actions for production-related issues.
  • Perform board-level troubleshooting and failure analysis of electronic assemblies.
  • Utilize laboratory and production test equipment, including: Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzers, Logic analyzers, Digital multimeters, Other diagnostic and measurement equipment.
  • Analyze test data and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Repair, Purchasing, Quality, and Warehouse teams.
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional projects as required.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across departments.
