About The Position

Stanley Consultants is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their Federal team, supporting client engagements in the Indo-Pacific Region. This full-time, onsite position involves electrical design development and coordination for projects such as military base facilities, airfields, and site designs. The role requires the candidate to exercise judgment in applying standard engineering techniques and procedures for design decisions and modifications. Responsibilities include developing design plans and specifications, participating in design charrettes, producing charrette reports, conducting site visits, and providing engineering services during construction. The position also involves supporting business development efforts by assisting the Business Development Team with regional pursuits and responding to RFPs. While projects are primarily for US Federal clients, there may be opportunities with the Government of Guam or commercial entities. The role is ideal for those seeking a two-year commitment with the possibility of long-term relocation to Guam.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 10+ years relevant electrical engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Registration.
  • Electrical design in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), including providing power to medium and low voltage distribution systems, mechanical building systems, and lighting systems.
  • Experience with Uniform Building Code (UBC), Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS).
  • Electrical System Analysis including load flow, short circuit, arc flash studies using computer programs ETAP, SKM or EasyPower.
  • Experience with communication systems and security systems.
  • Experience in and fully capable of using or learning the latest remote communication software required. Ideally experienced in the use of Microsoft Teams.
  • General knowledge of construction techniques and an ability to read plans and specifications.
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with multiple disciplines.
  • Must be willing and able to travel in Indo-Pacific region – approximately 15-20% total travel per year.
  • Must be able to successfully pass required background checks to obtain a Common Access Card.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must be available and willing to work flexible hours and occasional overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • OCONUS military planning and design experience a plus.
  • Work would include campus distribution and building low voltage systems, and potentially Asian voltage systems and standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT software and tools utilized in the development of electrical systems designs for low and medium voltage electrical systems and lighting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses client requirements and assists in development of specifications, drawings, instructions, and related documents.
  • Prepares and modifies charrette reports and assists in developing construction schedules for projects.
  • Serves as technical liaison and coordinates design components with other design disciplines, as needed.
  • Assists in the coordination of pricing, estimating, scoping, and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
  • Consult with construction personnel concerning design constructability as related to field conditions, sequencing, and scheduling of construction activities.
  • May need to attend onsite or virtual client meetings.
