About The Position

ACTIA Corporation has been manufacturing quality vehicle electronics and diagnostic equipment for growing markets such as Off-Highway, Bus & Coach, Truck & Fleet, Marine and Specialty Vehicles for over 30 years. ACTIA Group is an international group based in Toulouse, France. We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Elkhart, IN. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems for a wide range of products related to automotive, bus, and coach systems. Your expertise in electrical systems design and debugging will be instrumental in bringing innovative products from concept to production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred three plus years of experience in electronic hardware design.
  • Requires experience in automotive and electrical.
  • Dynamic, self-starter with the ability to excite and instill confidence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, ethical, honest, and trustworthy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with attention to details and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of wireless technologies (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LoRa, etc.).
  • Familiarity with embedded system development and hardware-software integration.
  • Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with creating and maintaining detailed schematics and PCB layouts using tools such as Altium Designer or OrCAD.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, power electronics, and communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, etc.).
  • Proficient in EDA tools for schematics capture and PCB layout.
  • Familiar with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI compliance and design-for-manufacturability (DEM) principles.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems, including analog, digital, and mixed signal circuits.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, QA) to ensure seamless integrations of electrical systems into final products.
  • Perform circuit analysis and component selection to optimize performance, cost, and reliability.
  • Conduct hands-on prototyping, testing, and debugging of electrical system and assemblies.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate hardware functionality and ensure compliance with regulatory standards (EMC/EMI, environmental, ISO, SAE, safety, etc.).
  • Stay current with industry trends, components, and technologies to inform design improvements and innovations.
  • Ensure legal compliance with ITAR, state, federal and OSHA requirements.
  • Ensure ISO procedures are followed.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
