About The Position

Grace is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Maintenance & Reliability team. The Electrical Engineer manages engineered systems including the electrical interconnect to the bulk power grid and all auxiliary electric power equipment, which includes rotating machines, generators, motors, inverters, energy storage, batteries, generator circuit breakers, switchgear, motor control centers, power transformers and variable frequency drives. The Electrical Engineer is on-site in Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 10+ years electrical engineering experience
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, wear required Arc Flash PPE
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards with highly hazardous materials

  • EPC project experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience leading electrical discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members
  • Experience with standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Experience with electrical standards
  • Experience working methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment
  • Experience performing quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the site resource around the Electrical Engineering discipline
  • Power generation equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Protective relay setting, testing and coordination
  • Application of regulations and standards
  • Apply Electrical Safety in the workplace including MOC review
  • Application of equipment and circuits in hazardous locations
  • Troubleshoot electrical equipment and distribution problems
  • Develop and maintain electrical specifications and requirements to define Grace standards to contractors
  • Ensure consistency with Grace Corporate specification
  • Provide Engineering consulting support to capital project managers in the preliminary design and engineering of medium voltage collection system, low voltage and substations.
  • Assist turnaround and outage electrical scope of work during and upon startup/commissioning of electrical equipment/facilities
  • Conduct audits, analyze process, products and inspection records to anticipate, identify and correct problems and establish quality levels and trends.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to assist in resolving moderately complex, development production and acceptance issues
