Electrical Engineer – Value Engineering

Applied Materials•Gloucester, MA

About The Position

Applied Materials is hiring an Electrical Engineer focused on value engineering. The role designs, modifies, and troubleshoots electrical and electronic engineering assemblies, layouts, schematics, and drawings for equipment used in semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing. The engineer performs analysis, develops test reports and product-release documentation, coordinates component procurement and assembly, identifies sources for critical parts, and resolves technical issues. The position applies specialized electrical engineering expertise to cost optimization, supply-chain alignment, and product lifecycle improvement. It balances design intent, reliability, cost, manufacturability, performance, and supply-chain considerations to deliver scalable engineering solutions. The engineer works independently, seeking guidance in the most complex situations, and collaborates across engineering, suppliers, and business functions. The position is listed in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The posting describes a full-time regular role and provides salary figures of $108,000–$148,500 in the introductory section and $86,500–$119,000 in additional information. Compensation depends on factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. A comprehensive benefits package is mentioned; eligible candidates may also receive bonus and stock-award compensation.
