Kimley-Horn's Orlando, Florida (FL) office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their Renewable Energy team. This is not a remote position. The role involves leading the design of electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, building electrical, and battery storage projects. Responsibilities include performing design tasks such as photometrics and lighting, power distribution, and EV charging. The engineer will be responsible for developing design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics, system calculations, and one-line diagrams. This position requires daily interaction and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, including those in other Kimley-Horn offices. The role also involves preparing project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals to support the growth of electrical engineering services. Additionally, the engineer is expected to assist in mentoring, training, and growing a team to expand the Renewable Energy practice. The role also includes developing reports and design documents related to electrical design plans, EV charging infrastructure, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses.
