About The Position

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager to expand our Renewable Energy practice in Houston, Texas (TX)! This role involves leading the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for various renewable energy projects, including generation, energy storage, EV charging infrastructure, and building electrical systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and developing design documents, reports, specifications, and cost estimates, while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and supporting the growth of electrical engineering services locally and nationally. As a Practice Builder, this individual will manage projects profitably, transition work to staff, grow and mentor teams, and act as a positive leader. The role offers significant autonomy and the potential for impressive bonuses and advancement to ownership.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience managing Electrical projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage and mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, building electrical, and battery storage projects
  • Responsible for the review and development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams
  • Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices
  • Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country
  • Operating with integrity and sound business principles
  • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
