Kimley-Horn's Austin, Texas (TX) office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join their MEP team. This is not a remote position. The role involves supporting the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team, specifically focusing on large-scale HVAC design. The engineer will lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for MEP projects, developing design documents and reports. This includes electrical layouts, equipment schematics, block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams. The position requires daily interaction and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, including other Kimley-Horn offices. Responsibilities also include preparing project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals to support the growth of electrical engineering services. The role is expected to assist in mentoring, training, and growing a team to expand the MEP practice. Further responsibilities include developing reports and design documents such as electrical design plans, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses. Coordination with specialists for fire alarm, technology, and lighting design, as well as with architects and other engineers for equipment power needs and distribution sizing, is also required.
