About The Position

CLH is looking for a Senior MEP Electrical Engineer (PE) to lead its electrical department. This role offers a unique opportunity to transition into department leadership with the guidance of an experienced mentor. The successful candidate will shape the department by setting standards, choosing tools, developing junior engineers, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients regarding electrical engineering. CLH Architects & Engineers Case, Lowe & Hart is a full-service architecture and engineering firm based in Ogden, Utah, providing in-house mechanical and electrical engineering services. They serve federal agencies (Air Force, Forest Service, Park Service) and private clients in manufacturing, mining, commercial, and hospitality sectors. Current projects include a motorsports venue with a welcome center, museum, and restaurants. The firm emphasizes close coordination between architecture and engineering due to their co-location and is building a new office in Ogden, indicating a long-term commitment to the area.

Requirements

  • Active PE license in Utah, or one that transfers to Utah by comity.
  • Approximately ten to fifteen years of experience designing building electrical systems at an MEP, A/E, or design-build firm.
  • Experience leading the electrical scope on complex projects.
  • Experience reviewing others' work.
  • Ability to work in person in Ogden, UT.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the electrical design on multiple projects simultaneously, from schematic design through construction administration.
  • Manage electrical scope, schedule, and fee.
  • Serve as the client-facing representative for the electrical discipline.
  • Review and mentor other engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate closely with architects and the mechanical engineer.
  • Perform hands-on design and calculations.
  • Take ownership of the electrical department within the next few years.
  • Set electrical engineering standards.
  • Choose tools for the electrical department.
  • Develop future electrical engineers and designers.
