Staff Electrical Engineer (MEP)

CLH Architects Engineers•Ogden, UT
•Onsite

About The Position

MEP Electrical Engineer (EIT) | Ogden, UT | Full-time | $85,000 to $105,000. Case, Lowe & Hart is a full-service architecture and engineering firm based in Ogden, Utah, with mechanical and electrical engineering in house. We design for federal agencies and for private clients in manufacturing, mining, commercial, and hospitality. Because architecture and engineering sit under one roof, coordination happens across a desk rather than across a contract, and every engineer sees how the whole building comes together. We are building a new office in Ogden, and we plan to be here for a long time.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related ABET-accredited program.
  • Passed FE exam.
  • Roughly two to five years designing building electrical systems at an MEP, A/E, or design-build firm.
  • Working knowledge of the NEC.
  • Proficiency in Revit or AutoCAD for electrical design.
  • A plan to sit for the PE within the next year or two.
  • Ability to work in person in Ogden.

Responsibilities

  • Design building electrical systems from early design through construction: service and distribution, power, lighting, and low-voltage systems.
  • Perform load calculations, one-lines, panel schedules, fault current and voltage drop calculations.
  • Create lighting layouts, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate daily with architects and mechanical engineers.
  • Answer RFIs and submittals.
  • Visit sites during construction.

Benefits

  • $85,000 to $105,000 base, depending on experience
  • Mentorship from a senior electrical engineer with decades of building design experience, on your path to a PE
  • A path to lead the electrical department as you grow, at a firm where that title means something
  • Whole-building exposure with architecture and mechanical engineering in the same office
  • Project variety across federal, industrial, commercial, and motorsports work
