About The Position

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking motivated and innovative Electrical Engineering students for an internship opportunity. This role is with Collins Aerospace, a leader in technologically advanced solutions for the aerospace and defense industry. The intern will join the Applied Research and Technology (ART) Microelectronics Technology team, contributing to the development of cutting-edge defense solutions. The work will involve the design, implementation, verification, and integration of high-performance digital FPGAs & ASICs, leveraging skills in RTL coding and simulation.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship.
  • Experience with RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, team with engineers of a variety of skills and backgrounds, and matrix into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using ASIC and/or FPGA design tools (e.g. Modelsim, Quartus, Vivado or other FPGA-specific tools).
  • Experience with debugging and root cause investigations on hardware using hardware schematics, integrated FPGA vendor debug tools, and digital lab equipment.
  • Digital circuit architecture and resource tradeoffs.
  • Some background in signal processing and/or information assurance.
  • Familiarity with the signal processing system simulation & analysis tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink).
  • Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion).

Responsibilities

  • Support requirements capture and ASIC / FPGA digital architecture.
  • Implement ASIC / FPGA digital design using RTL.
  • Support verification and system integration of ASIC / FPGA implementations.
