Strata-G is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Instrument & Controls to develop detailed design packages, provide engineering procurement and field technical support, and troubleshoot and assess plant systems. The role involves preparing conceptual engineering deliverables—including cost-estimating bills of material and labor-hour estimates, statements of work, and design criteria—as well as Title II design engineering deliverables such as calculations and analyses, construction specifications and drawings, and equipment specifications. The engineer will work cooperatively as part of an integrated project team and routinely conduct walkdowns in existing plant facilities to prepare design documents and support craft personnel. The work primarily focuses on instrumentation and controls for equipment process control and monitoring. It includes preparing conduit and cable schedules, conduit and equipment plans, one-line diagrams, wiring, connection and schematic diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, drawings, calculations, datasheets, and construction specifications. The engineer will develop control cabinet assembly drawings, system diagrams, and control logic for batch and continuous processes using conventional analog instrumentation, distributed digital control systems, and PLC/HMI systems. The role also includes developing process control system narratives, contributing to process software requirements, and providing input to P&IDs. Designs must apply established engineering practices, codes, and standards, including the National Electrical Code, UL508A, and relevant ISA standards. The position is located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and has no remote-work option.
