About The Position

Strata-G is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer/Instrument & Controls professional to develop detailed engineering design packages and provide engineering procurement, field technical support, troubleshooting, and technical assessments for plant systems. The role applies electrical engineering expertise primarily to instrumentation and controls for equipment process control and monitoring. The engineer works as part of an integrated project team and routinely performs walkdowns in existing plant facilities to develop design documents and support craft personnel in the field. The position includes preparing conceptual engineering deliverables, such as cost-estimating bills of material, labor-hour estimates, statements of work, and design criteria, as well as Title II design deliverables, including calculations and analyses, construction specifications and drawings, and equipment specifications. Engineers develop conduit and cable schedules; conduit and equipment plans; one-line, wiring, connection, and schematic diagrams; instrument loop diagrams; drawings and details; calculations; datasheets; and construction specifications. They also develop control cabinet assembly drawings, system diagrams, and control logic for batch and continuous processes using conventional analog instrumentation, distributed digital control systems, and PLC/HMI systems. Additional work includes developing process control system narratives, supporting process software requirements, and providing input to P&IDs. Designs use established engineering practices, codes, and standards, including the National Electrical Code, UL508A, and relevant ISA standards. The position is full-time and has no remote work option. It is located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Strata-G does not sponsor immigrant or non-immigrant work visas.
